Swerve

A Clear Look at How To Virtually Eliminate Blind Spots

Here's how you do it:
  • Step 1 Adjust your rearview mirror so that you have a clear view of the entire back window.
  • Step 2 Now adjust your left side mirror. Sitting with your shoulders against the seat and your head facing straight ahead, let your head fall slowly toward your shoulder while still looking forward. Your shoulders are still against the seat. Your left ear is aiming toward your left shoulder. In this position, adjust your left mirror so that you can see a bare sliver of your car.
  • Step 3 Repeat the process with the right side mirror.
  • Step 4 Now have someone walk all the way around your car. You should be able to see them either through a window or a mirror.
  • NOTE: Many people find looking through their side mirrors a little awkward at first because of the re-adjustment. Just stick with it and the new mirror position will get more comfortable in pretty short order.
