SWERVE Driver Education Difference |
The Importance of Time to React |
| |
A recent study from the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute showed that 80% of all collisions and near-misses involve driver inattention in the 3 seconds just before things go wrong. That's why our high-quality driver training goes way beyond vehicle-handling skills and traffic laws. We aim to enable drivers to eliminate all those collisions and near-misses by focusing on awareness behind the wheel. It is our goal to make sure our students know the facts and have the skills to give themselves time to react. |
Dynamic Learning in The SWERVE Classroom |
| |
A team of behavioral specialists and elite driver education experts have worked together to develop the best driver education program available. Our interactive curriculum is taught in the state-of-the-art SWERVE Classroom, our unique and interactive learning environment for driver education. |
Behind the Wheel Driving Sessions |
| |
Practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect, so we offer more behind-the-wheel time than most other driver education programs: Six, 2-Hour Driving Lessons (Each of the 6 Driving Lessons includes One Hour each of Behind the Wheel and Observation). That is a total of 12 hours of Driving Time. All drives are done in our driver education "SWERVE Mobiles": Scion XBs. At the end of each driving session, students are given an individualized Practice Prescription, so they can build on the skills they need most. |
The Reality Check |
 |
The Reality Check is SWERVE Driver Training's Advanced Car Control Skills Module. The Reality Check teaches drivers to deal with a range of emergency driving situations in a safe, controlled environment. Learning physical skills like emergency panic braking, skid control, collision avoidance maneuvers and cornering techniques are all a part of the focus in our driver education programs. This program saves lives. Click here to read a SWERVE Parent's testimonial. SWERVE Driver Education students and graduates are invited to participate in the Reality Check at a discounted rate. |
Parental Involvement |
 |
At SWERVE Driver Education, we not only recognize that Parent Involvement is important, we make it a key component of our curriculum. Parents are required to attend our orientation / first driver education class session, where they will receive our comprehensive Parent Toolkit, a guide to acting as their teen's driving coach, and other information to help build confidence and driving responsibility. | |
